Nobody stopped to ask Candlewell
if he was all right.
就因为他一直踢 Nate 的座椅，他们就想当然地...
They just assumed because he was
kicking the back of Nate's seat,
认为他有毛病，就因为他一直按"召唤键"
that he was a jerk. Because
he was pushing his call button,
他们就想当然地认为，他故意要干扰客服人员的工作
that he was bothering the flight attendant.
就因为他想进厕所，他们就想当然地认为，他是故意闹事，
Because he was trying to get into
the lavatory, he was making a scene.
就因为他在走道上来回地走动，他们就想当然地认为...
Because he was going back and forth
up and down the aisles,
他给他们造成了威胁
he was posing a threat.

- He was a threat.
- No.
他变成了一个威胁，但是本来可以避免的
He turned into a threat.
But it didn't have to be that way.
就因为人们的假设，这就是问题所在了。
你们刚才也都作了假设
People make assumptions.
That's the problem. You just did.
但我想这些乘客的假设是错了
And I think these passengers
made the wrong assumption.
因此现在这家伙死了
And now this guy's dead.
照你的说法，我们该怎么避免这种事发生呢?
Well, if that's your stance,
how could it have been prevented?
只要有一个人，停下来...
If just one person had stopped
稍微注意一下他，稍微听一下他说话，
and taken the time to look at the guy,
to listen to him,
看出他身上发生的毛病
to figure out what was wrong with him,
这悲剧根本不会发生的
it might not have happened.
现在有5个人杀了他
It took five people to kill him.
而实际上只要有一个人，就可以救得了他的性命了
It would have only taken one person
to save his life.
