康肖勋爵和可可·考特尼被杀的动机
The motive behind the murders of both Lord Cronshaw and Coco Courtney

was the evil drug cocaine.

During the Victory Ball,
我看到了康肖勋爵和可可女士的争吵
l witnessed an argument between Lord Cronshaw and Mlle. Coco.
大家知道他们是恋人
They were known to be lovers,
但康肖发现了可可在秘密吸毒
but Cronshaw had discovered Coco's secret addiction.
见鬼 你在笑什么?
What the hell do you think you're laughing at?
年轻的康肖勋爵是个很有原则的人
The young Lord Cronshaw was a man of high principle.

He seized his lover's cocaine
威胁要揭发供毒者
and threatened to expose the supplier

who was destroying her life along with many others.

But Coco was now hopelessly addicted.

By the time she reached home,

she had obtained a new, fatally strong dose of cocaine from her supplier,
那人知道免于坐牢的唯一办法 就是杀人!
who now knew the one chance to avoid prison was murder.
那我们的哈勒昆呢?
But what of our Harlequin?
当我检查康肖勋爵的尸体时
When I examined the body of Lord Cronshaw,
我没有发现那个绒球
I failed to discover the pompom.
为什么呢?
Why?
因为紧握的拳头表明了死亡时间
Because the fist was clenched tight with the rigor mortis.
康肖勋爵不是十二点被杀的
Lord Cronshaw was not killed at 12:00.

He was killed earlier in the evening and the body hidden in the recess until later.

But that can't be.

even scribbling a false clue pointing to M. BeItaine

and his obsession with the Lowestoft china.

Ridiculous, huh?

Since the elaborate costume of Mr. Beltaine cannot be changed without assistance.
不 凶手在晚餐后很快下手了
No. The murder took place soon after supper,
就在凶手和康肖勋爵独处的时候
when the killer contrived a moment alone with Lord Cronshaw.
康肖知道毒品交易的真♥相♥
It is Cronshaw who knows the truth about the dealing in cocaine.
为了不被揭发 为了继续邪恶的毒品交易
To avoid being exposed and to preserve the evil trade in drugs,
凶手把康肖勋爵刺死了
the murderer stabs Lord Cronshaw to death.
那个时候 凶手并不知道
At the time, the kiIIer is unaware
康肖勋爵做的最后一件事
that the last act of Lord Cronshaw
是扯掉了他衣服上的绒球
is to pull the pompom from the costume.
然后 尸体被藏在了休息处
Then the body is hidden in the alcove
这样 计划才能继续
and the pIan, it can be completed.
最后 在午夜前提示麦乐比太太
At last, having alerted Mme. Mallaby just before midnight,
最后的任务 就是把尸体从休息处拖出来
the final task was to drag the body from its hiding place
这样 才能让谋杀看起来是刚发生的
so it would appear that the murder had only just been committed.
离午夜还有十二秒!
Twelve seconds to midnight!
十 九...
Ten, nine,
八 七...
eight, seven,
六 五 四...
six, five, four,
三 二 一...
three, two, one!
然后 凶手悄悄的离开了
The murderer then slips quietly away.
当他知道尸体被发现之后
Knowing that when the discovery of the body occurs,
人们会认为...
it is beIieved
他安全的待在家里
that he is safely at home.
不! 不可能是克里斯!
No, it couIdn't have been Chris.
但 就他是 戴维森太太!
But it was, Mme. Davidson.
