Mr.MacAdam' s head was outside the car when he was shot at.

he looked out the window to see what was wrong.

The car is in the lane.
恶棍们把路拦了
The ruffians are barring the way.
麦克亚当先生意识到不对劲
Monsieur MacAdam realises that something is wrong.
他打开了窗户
He opens the window.
他把头伸出窗外看发生了什么事
He puts his head out of the window to see what is happening.
有人对着他开了一枪
A shot rings out.

I don' t know why

we' re wasting time on all this, Poirot.

The attempt didn' t succeed.

At any moment I fully expect the entire Cabinet to disappear.

There was a small hotel back there, it looked quite comfortable.
