He didn't do it. He put her in the library

He was rather under the influence of alcohol

and thought he'd try and implicate Arthur as a sort of joke.

I'm not bloody laughing. I mean, look at him.

against Ruby after her death.

That's what I mean about believing too readily.

A clever plan.

Complicated yet simple
首先 选择杀害可怜的帕梅拉
First of all the selection of the poor child Pamela
是为了制♥造♥不在场证明
whose death would provide them with their alibi
打扰一下! 她完全符合要求
Excuse me! She fitted the bill perfectly.
不但和露比·凯因没两样 还是个电影迷
She was not dissimilar to Ruby Keene. What's more a film fan
于是当杰弗森夫人说要给她一次试镜机会
so when Mrs Jefferson approached her regarding a screen test
大鱼就上钩了
she found it irresistible.
但这女孩说她遇到的是一个电影制片人
But the girl said she was approached by a film producer.
尽管难以想象
Inconceivable though it might seem,
但某些女人的确在电影业上独当一面
one or two women're managing to make their mark on the industry.
真是个电影迷
Quite a film buff, you know.

So a date was arranged and Pamela duly appeared at the hotel

where Mrs Jefferson introduced her to her makeup expert

We're doing your hair. It'll be fantastic.

After having turned Pamela into an approximation of Ruby

Josie Turner drugged her
