The Focus RS now has four-wheel drive.

That's not exactly revolutionary in a modern hot hatch,
但是这套系统可不大一样
but this version is a bit special.

Most four-wheel drive hot hatches
是把动力几乎全部
send pretty much all their power
输出到前轮
to their front wheels,
但福克斯RS却能把70%的动力放到后轮
but the Focus RS sends 70% of its power to the rear.
传感器监控速度横摆角转向角和G值
Sensors monitor speed, yaw, steering angle and G-force,
并数据送至后轴控制单元上那里的两套离合单元会通过
sending data to the rear drive unit, where two clutch packs employ
全时扭力矢量分配系统将动力合理分配到
side-to-side torque vectoring to send power

to the left or right wheel.

If I have to find a problem,
这车的坐姿还是有点高
the seating position is a little bit high,
换档衔接的时候还是有点不利索
the gear change is a tiny bit woolly around the edges,
而且从某些角度看上去这RS确实有些
and from some angles the RS does look...
沉闷
tame.
这些的确都是些小毛病
Sure, they're minor flaws,
但要知道现在钢炮界的竞争几近白热化
but the world of hot hatches is cut-throat right now.
尤其在你对手中还有这位爱挑事的货
Especially when it contains bruisers like this,
本♥田♥思域Type R
the Honda Civic Type R.
它和福克斯一样都卖♥♥到三万英镑
Like the Focus, it costs ￡30,000,
但不同于福克斯它浑身上下都是各种夸张的轮拱和尾翼个性十足
but unlike the Focus, it's all big arches, big wing, big attitude.
不过
However...
这车看着不错
It looks great...
开着也还行但怎么就是觉得有点过气
.. and it drives OK, so why does it feel a bit out of date?

In the Ford Focus, your 30 grand buys you four-wheel drive.

the Civic just feels old-fashioned, like Honda have been so busy

perfecting the old formula,

they didn't notice that the world's moved on.

The game's become more grown-up, more sophisticated.

The A45 is just a bit grown-up for a hot hatch.
