"And behold, the daughter of Pharaoh

"came down to wash herself in the river,

"she sent one of her maids for it.
便让一位侍女去取
"And when it was brought, she opened it,

发现篮子里有婴儿在哭泣
"And having compassion on it, she said,
她十分同情那婴儿便说
"'this is one of the babes of the Hebrews.'
这是希伯来人的孩子
"And she adopted him for a son, and called him Moses,
她收养了孩子并取名摩西
"saying, 'because I took him out of the water.'
说道因为他是我从水里捡来的
"One day, after Moses had grown up,
摩西长大后
"he went out among his people and saw their affliction.
他走入人群中发现他们很痛苦
"He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, his brethren.
他看到一个埃及人打他的希伯来同胞
"Looking this way and that way, and seeing no people,
他四处打量发现没有人
"Moses slew the Egyptian and hid him in the sand."
摩西便杀死了埃及人将他埋在沙土里
