在我八岁时候 我和父母被邀请参加一个午餐会
when I was eight and I was invited with my parents
巴塔哥尼亚的一家餐厅举办的 当时在一棵树下
to have lunch in a little restaurant in Patagonia under a tree.
时值夏日 每个人都盛装出席
It was summertime, and everybody was dressed up.
桌上有花
There was flowers on the table.

So that day, I don't remember the food, really...

...but the ambience of
真的深深震撼到我 而且...
what was happening really touched me. And...
我觉得是那种现场的画面感引我进入了美食的世界
I think I went into food by the theater of it.
那些花 桌子 音乐 装饰 幸福感
The flowers, the tables, the music, the decor, the happiness.

My dad lives life differently from a lot of people that I know.

I can't do it anymore as theater.

In a nice way, but you say no.
我有一个朋友
I have this friend of mine.
他也曾住在岛上 事实上 我们认识大概是30年前了
He was on the island, in fact, 30 years ago when we just started.
然后我们就分道扬镳了
And we, you know, we parted.
我们走上了完全不同的人生道路
We just went different ways in our lives.
有次他来看我 说道
Once he came back to me, he said,

"Francis, you don't like me anymore."

And I said, "No, it's not that I don't like you.
只是我们选择了不同的生活方式
We've chosen different styles of life.

I still have these beautiful
他们象征着我们一起做过的事
souvenirs of all the things we did together
一起共度的亲密时光
and how close we were and so on.
事实上 并不是你让我觉得无聊了
But the truth is, it's not that you bore me,
而只是我不再喜欢跟你聊天了
but I don't enjoy talking to you anymore.

And I don't want to fight with you, but you know...

I would have never said that to him, but he asked me.

you have to let it go in the best moment.

When he and you are at the happiest moment,

when he and you think that you're doing your best,
他们就该离开了
they have to go.
因为从这一刻开始 只剩一条路可走 那就是下坡路

and from there he will get bored.

And that transfer of energy, of power, of work,
会产生一段困难的时期
makes a little difficult moment,
但是这种困难终将过去 新成员将在这个团队里成长起来
but then it passes and new people grow up into it.

当弗朗西斯从法国回来的时候
When he came back from France,
他给富有的阿根廷人做高档的法餐
Francis was making fancy French food for rich Argentines.
那时候我非常的狂妄自大 我认为我是最好的厨师
I was quite arrogant and I thought I was the best chef.
我总是戴着又高又白的厨师帽
I was always with my huge white hat.
我会去做鱼子酱 三文鱼 我非常认真
I would use caviar and salmon, and I was so serious.
然后有天 卡地亚的头头订了我们餐厅
Then one day, the restaurant was booked by the head of Cartier,

the jewel company,
一个法国人
a Frenchman.
他们坐了下来 用餐 谈笑
The people sat, they dined, they laughed,
聊天 喝酒
they talked, they drank.
晚餐后 我穿着厨师服 戴着我的帽子
And I was walking around the

tables after dinner in my whites with my hat.

And the head of Cartier got up and he came up to me
