bring down an animal that is that much bigger than you.

Hey, John.

JOHN (over radio): Go.
BERTIE: How did that look from, from your angle?

JOHN (over radio): Yeah, pretty amazing man.

BERTIE: Even after such a grueling struggle,
佩塔佳仍不能休息
Petacca can't rest.
牠必须将猎物藏好，躲开食腐动物还要找到自己的孩子
She needs to hide the kill from scavengers and find her cubs.
有没有人看到幼狮？
Can someone see, anyone see the cubs?
在山顶
ROBERTO (over radio): At the top of the hill.
(squealing)
(meows)
佩塔佳呼唤着孩子，牠们跑过来了
BERTIE: Petacca's calling the cubs,
and the cubs are running.
幼狮发现了原驼，牠们一定相当兴奋
The cubs have found the guanaco, and they must be very excited,
这可是一顿大餐
that's a lot of food for them.
真是了不起的母亲经过一番奋战后，牠一定饿坏了
What an amazing mother, after all of that she must be
so hungry and she's letting the cubs have the first feed.
但牠还是让孩子们先吃
正当我们准备离开让这一家大啖美食时
As we're about to leave the family to enjoy their meal,
巴塔哥尼亚的美洲狮给了我们最后的惊喜
Patagonia's pumas have one final surprise for us.
看来这个故事还没结束
Turns out the story might not be over just yet.
罗贝托发现另一头母美洲狮带着两只幼狮朝这里走来
Roberto's spotted another female puma with
two cubs coming this way.
佩塔佳已经好几天没进食
Petacca hasn't eaten for days,
要是那个家庭想抢走猎物
and if that family try and steal the kill,
可能会衍生大问题
this could mean serious trouble.
我不敢相信
I can't quite believe this,
这是布琳克，牠是佩塔佳的姊姊
this is Blinka, she's the older sister of Petacca.
牠的右眼不见了
She has a missing right eye, you see that limp,
还有跛脚，那是牠在几个月前受的伤
she got beat up in a hunt months ago,
这个伤势
and that is an injury that should've been game over
对伏击掠食动物来说应该早就活不下去
for an ambush predator.
佩塔佳竟然让牠一起吃
Petacca's just letting her feed.
我原本以为牠展现敌意
I was expecting hostility, you know, Petacca fought really,
佩塔佳为这头原驼付出了非常多心血
really hard for that guanaco.
但是看来在这里，牠们学会了分享
But I guess here they've learnt to share.
我看到在这里养家活口必须承担的无比风险与挑战
I've seen the extraordinary risks and
challenges of raising a family here.
但是尽管佩塔佳竭尽全力喂养及保护牠们
But even though Petacca has worked so hard to feed
and protect then, Frost and Breeze will soon leave her,
佛斯特和布莉丝很快将离开牠迈向未知的未来
and set off into an uncertain future.
牠的两个孩子将走出自己的路
Her two cubs are gonna be forging a new path
for themselves and it's very likely,
而且那条路非常可能
超出保护区的范围
that will involve going outside the protected area.
在过去，那些故事最后或许会以一颗子弹告终
And in the past that story could easily end with a bullet.
但是我在这里的发现让我相信事情已经出现转变
But what I've seen here gives me hope that things are changing,
美洲狮和人类也许真的有办法共存
you know, there could be a way for pumas
and humans to co-exist.
但是我的结语还是要回到佩塔佳身上
But my final word has to be for Petacca herself.
想像每次要喂饱家人时都要经历这么多辛苦
Imagine having to go through all that every time
you want to feed your family.
