The local community realized fishing like this
was unsustainable.

They had to find a way to reverse the damage...

So they turned to conservation and tourism,

Ayub, before you were all rangers,
what did you all do for jobs?

They used to fish in this area.

Some of them damaged the habitat,

but that's in the past.

They didn't know fishing was forbidden.

When they started working as rangers

it all became clear.

They now understand why marine life is important

and they're even telling other people

not to fish in the No Take Zone.

BERTIE: When you encounter the fishermen that are fishing

illegally and you stop them, what's their reaction like?

AYUB: At first they get very angry.

But we stay calm
