Each day, the heat continues to build.

There's no relief in sight.

All of us gather in the one place we can still quench our thirst.
迁徙的兽群涌入后, 水坑吸引着所有动物的目光

The waterhole is now our lifeline.
没有其它水源 这是唯一的生命线
(ANIMALS BRAYING AND HOOTING)
But day by day,there's a little less to go round.
然而一天天过去 水源的面♥积♥逐渐缩小
Struggling catfish are a sign of the drought to come.
挣扎的鲶鱼是干旱即将来临的前兆
(SNORTING)
But some relish this time of year,
不过有些动物却享受着一年中这时候
and the easy meals it brings.
坐等食物上门
(GROWLING)
Kali is finally at ease.
卡丽终于能自♥由♥自在的
Back with the pride that once cast her out.
回到曾经驱除它的狮群中生活
Her cubs are safe at last.
它的幼崽终于得到保护
(ZEBRAS BARKING)
Each day, Shani leads her foal and family
每天特莎拉必须带领小马
on the perilous trek to water.

Kali and the Great Pride are always there,

watching and waiting.

Abundance brings choice,

and a zebra foal is highly prized.

Kali is well practised in the art of ambush.

This time, it wasn't Shani's foal who met its fate.

But, for many,the danger is far from over.

Beneath the surface the mud is a trap,
在水下的淤泥就如同陷阱
and Shani is caught.
特莎拉深陷其中
So too is her foal.
它的小马也难逃陷阱
He may have escaped,but what of his mother?
现在它必须找到母亲
She's exhausted,
可是特莎拉筋疲力尽
and her struggles just take her deeper into the mud.
越是挣扎 反而陷得越深

But when all strength is gone,
当它耗尽最后一丝力气时
we all need something to fight for.

The bond between mother and young is sometimes the strongest of all.
若世间存在堪比金坚的感情,那一定是母子之情

Not all fear the mud.
不是所有动物都惧怕淤泥
For the mighty,it's one of life's pleasures.

Each day, Nalla leads her family here to drink and wallow.
来此喝水打滚
They too run the gauntlet of the lions.
它们也必须对抗狮子
But here the elephants rule.
可大象才是这里的霸主

Confrontation would achieve nothing.

Elephants are too mighty to be trapped by mud,
趁还有时间 小象应该尽量
so Nalla's baby can safely enjoy the cooling water.
多戏水清凉 要知道好景不长

But one family member is no longer welcome.
不过有一名成员 已不再受家族欢迎
Tembo has reached adulthood,
坦波被赶出了母象群
and he's too boisterous to stay in a family of females.
在母象群里 年轻公象没有容身之地
He now only watches from afar.
如今它只能远远看着
And takes out his frustration any way he can.

Rejected and lonely,Tembo must seek company elsewhere.

Warthogs also find pleasure as the mud takes over.

They should enjoy it while they can.

Soon, our land will turn to dust.

For now, there are more immediate concerns.

Where life gathers, leopards prowl.

Most hunts end in failure, and soon,even the warthogs won't be visiting.

But for now, the daily procession to the waterhole continues.

Even the mongoose join in.

They're not just here to quench their thirst.

Dung beetles are everywhere,
蜣螂随处可见
gathering the dung the herds leave behind.

The balls they make provide both food and a nursery for their young.

Having laid an egg inside,they find a place to bury it.

Where dungballs are hidden,more can be found.

Dig them up and there's a feast inside.

But first, they need to break them open.

A beetle grub is a treat to be savoured.
通常都能找到幼虫
To return home they must cross open ground.

It's a martial eagle who now has a chance of a meal.
对猛雕来说 此乃天赐良机
(SQUEALING)
Their nearest cover is the tree.
最近的掩护是树木
The mongoose are safe for the moment.
猫鼬暂时安全了
But they're also trapped.
却也陷入了困境
(SQUEALING)
Somehow, they must persuade the eagle to leave.
它们必须想办法说服这只猛雕离开
Mongoose are fearless and noisy.
猫鼬是勇敢的 也是嘈杂的
And hunters rely on not being seen.
猎食者必须秘密行动
The mongoose will make sure everyone knows he's there.
而猫鼬有大把的时间可以挥霍
And it's the eagle who's left in the sun.
而猛雕正在烈日暴晒下

It's just a short sprint home.
现在只要快速奔跑到家就安全了
As the day finally cools,the herds head back to the plains.
天气终于凉爽 兽群开始返回平原
Shani and her foaljoin those who have lived to see another day.

But each new dawn brings fresh conflict.
每天随着旭日升起 生活也愈加艰难
The vultures are ready for any who lose the fight.

Jasari brought his family here for the riches the migration brings.
瑞奇亚把家人带到这里,迁徙大军的出现增加了觅食的机会
But as his pups thrive,their demands for food also grow.
但幼崽的成长 对食物的需求越来越大
The only relief from the begging is to catch another meal.
唯有再抓一只猎物才能安抚它们
For vultures, wild dogs are certainly a family worth following.

Success is something everyone wants to share.

Zalika, leader of the hyena clan,saw it all unfold.

While vultures hope for scraps,

Zalika is cautious.

Last time she encountered Jasari,she was badly beaten.
