His first batch of brew didn't work.

And Meeks held his breath for as long as he could.

Meeks waited. The witnesses waited.

And slowly, they turned toward the executioner,

He finally goes back to his little room
重新调了一剂硫酸溶液，拉动了控制杆
and he mixes up another batch of sulfuric acid and pulls the lever.
这次硫酸终于滴对了位置
This time the sulfuric acid drops down where it's supposed to.
启动了第二个控制杆
Pulls the second lever,
氰化物靶就丸掉了下来
dropping the cyanide pellets.
任何，毒气开始缓缓上升
Sure enough, this gas starts drifting upward
老泰迪再一次憋气
to where old Teddy is holding his breath again.
最后憋不住了深吸了一口
So finally he sucks in a whole nose full of it
然后他开始抽筋、抽搐
and starts shaking and jerking.
好死不死的里面有根金属杆
Well, for some reason or other there's a metal pole
点天立地的竖在毒气室里
that runs from the top of the chamber down to the bottom,
恰好在椅子的后面
and it's right directly behind the chair.

And...
就在米克斯静止不动的时候
And just about the time Meeks got real still
所有人都以为他已经死了
and everybody thought he was dead,

his head starts banging back and forth against that pole.

Just beating the hell out of it like that.

His eyes rolled up in his head,

And he was foaming at the mouth.
