What path of life do they choose?
这是很严重的事情！
This is serious!
当你没有收入来果腹
When you don't earn the bread,
你就会失去尊严！
you lose your dignity!
工作的缺乏
This lack of work...
工作的缺乏
This lack of work
抢走了我们的尊严！
rob us of dignity!
我们一定要为此而抗争
We must fight for this,
我们必须捍卫自己的尊严
we must defend our dignity.
身为公民，身为男女，身为年轻人
as citizens, as men and women, as young people.
这是我们这时代的悲剧
That is the tragedy of our time.
不能再沉默下去了
We must not remain silent.
不能！
No!
要摆脱消费主义
The way to escape consumerism,
摆脱腐♥败♥
this corruption,
摆脱丛林法则
this competitiveness,
摆脱为钱币作奴隶的办法
this being enslaved to money,
是在每天的工作当中具体化的
is the concreteness of day-to-day work,
这是确切的现实！
is tangible reality!
我要说三件事
I like to talk about the three 'T's
工作
'trabajo' [work],
土地 和 屋顶
'tierra' [land] and 'techo' [roof].
屋顶 代表着家，家庭
'Roof' means home, family.
要重新找回家庭的感觉
Recovering this sense of family.
土地 意味着劳作
'Land' means work,
耕种土地
cultivating the land,
而工作
and work mean precisely
恰恰意味着人所拥有的最高贵的东西
the most noble thing that man has,
也就是 通过你双手的创造
to imitate God with your hands
来肖似天主！
by creating!
这三件事
Those three T's,
我们中的很多人都视作理所当然
many of us take them for granted:
吃喝不愁，有一个家，有一份稳定的工作
enough to eat and drink, a home, a steady work.
那原来是人人都应有的基本人♥权♥
They are basic human rights that everybody should have access to.
然而 由于事实并非如此
However, because that is not the case,
教宗方济各在他任内的第一年
Pope Francis in his first year in office...
为农民，工人和原住民代表
created a forum of popular movements and grassroots organizations.
创设了民众运动和基层组织的论♥坛♥
representing farmers, workers and indigenous people.
现在，时隔一年后他回到家乡拜访他们
Now, he visits them a year later on his home continent.

Sisters, brothers,

I want to clarify,
我说的问题
that I am speaking about common problems
是拉美人的普遍问题
of all Latin Americans
亦是全人类的普遍问题
and generally of humanity as a whole.
我们有没有真诚的意识到 事情的发展并不乐观？
Do we recognize, in all sincerity, that things are not going well?
在这世上 有这么多农民没有土地
In a world where there are so many farmers without land,
这么多家庭居无定所
so many families without a home,
这么多工人没有权利
so many workers without rights,
这么多人的尊严受到伤害？
so many persons whose dignity is harmed?
我们有没有意识到 事情发展不乐观
Do we realize that things don't go well,
土地 水源 和空气
when soil, water and air
以及所有活着的受造物
and all living beings of creation
都正遭受永久性的威胁？
are under permanent threat?
如果我们意识到了
So, if we realize all this,
那就让我们无所畏惧地说出来
let's say it without fear
我们需要
"we need,
也想要改变！
and we want change!"
我们想要生活中的改变
"We want change in our lives,
社区中的改变
in our neighborhoods,
薪资中的改变
in our paychecks,
每天所面对的现实的改变
and in our everyday reality.
让我们一同说“不！”
Let's say 'No!'
对排他和不平等的经济
to an economy of exclusion and inequality
对金钱至上
where money rules
而非服务于人的经济说不
instead of serving.
这种经济杀死人！
This economy kills!
这种经济产生排斥隔阂
This economy excludes.
这种经济在摧毁地球母亲
This economy destroys Mother Earth."
一位母亲和她的孩子
A mother and her children,
一所房♥屋和它的居民
the common house and its inhabitants
息息相关
go together,
休戚与共
they go together.
地球母亲
Mother Earth,
也被圣方济各称为“大地姐妹”
"Sister Earth", as St Francis called her.

That's why I started the encyclical

and to denounce the reckless exploitation of our planet so directly,

Today, well never, could you practice theology
不与科学对话是无法实践神学的
without a dialogue with science.
且又不止如此
More than that
天主给予了我们探究的能力
God gave us the capacity for investigation,
寻求真知的智力
the intellectual ability to look for truths.
诚然
Obviously,
圣经故事里的创造
the biblical story of creation
是通过神话形式的表达
is a mythical form of expression
解释过去发生的事
to explain what happened.
但那确实是一种发展
But it's a development,
一种进化
an evolution.
当天主
God, when
派遣人来管理地土之时
he sent Man to dominate the Earth
将一些野生的东西托付给人
entrusted something uncultivated to him.
于是人便开始
So man began,
将野生转变为开化
transforming the uncultivated into something cultivated.
这便是我们所理解的科学之进步
This is what we understand as progress in science,
艺术之进步
in art,
科学探索之进步
in technin scientific research,
也即是人
that man is transforming
将无知，将文明的匮乏转变为文明
this not-knowing, this lack of culture into culture.
我们所有人都被召叫
We are all called upon,
不只是亚当和厄娃，我们都受召叫来创造文明
not just Adam and Eve, all of us, to create culture.
但若有人觉得
But when someone feels
他才是这文明的主宰，自己全能无上
that he owns this culture and feels all-powerful,
诱惑也就出现了
the temptation arises
愈演愈烈
to go further,
最终葬送文明
