Now it's a sculpture on our wall.

now it's used as a headrest next to a chair.

It comes from his childhood, I think.

Thingeyri is a really small and isolated place.

Everything is a bit difficult, and you have to be resourceful.

You have to go very far for material.

So, you need to be able to adapt and make use of what is available here.

It's kind of an interesting process to see what can you make out of it.

One day we were walking on the beach, and Pálmar found these logs.

He said, "Maybe these are the logs my father got into his net one time."

And then he dragged them home,

and we washed them and dried them and vacuumed them.

There was a lot of things going on, but then the fishing industry went down,

The prosperity of Thingeyri depends on people wanting to live there, firstly,

I think Pálmar's trying to put Thingeyri on the map, so to say.

I wanna see the community have a certain future and see it grow.

The first time I really connected with Pálmar

was during one of our artist residencies.

He's a really interesting character because he's so calm on the outside,

The tank project is the main project we have been working on.

It was an old fuel-holding tank when the village was run by fisheries.

And now, we wanna use it as a central, like, gathering place
给游客和本地人使用
for visitors and locals.

Thingeyri has lost its old purpose, like, as a fishing village.

So, you have to reinvent it, and that is an interesting process.

And it's kind of a pet project for me and Pálmar.

The main visual factor in Thingeyri is the sunset.

In my opinion, it's more spectacular here than any other place.

He designed this triangular structure,

and we've been applying for grants to make this happen.

The first one is the entrance, and you have a panorama view of the fjord.
