而冬天的一侧在42年内都看不到阳光
…while the winter side
won't see daylight for 42 years.

With the arrival of spring,
露娜一家也从巢穴中出来了
Luna's family emerge from the den.

The cubs can now enjoy
their first moments in the Sun.

Then, in a distant solar system…

…a star explodes.

A supernova that sends
a shock wave across the galaxy.

On impact, the shockwave
causes the cloud to fall in on itself.
并开始旋转
And begin to rotate.
随着云团旋转得越来越快
As it spins faster and faster,
它就会扁平化形成一个圆盘
the cloud flattens out into a disc.

A maelstrom of gas and rock.
在中心部分 在强大的压力下
In the center, under intense pressure…

…the Sun is born.

While further out,
rock collides with rock…
而我们的星球则开始生长
and our planet begins to grow.
一直到2000万年后
Until after 20 million years,
地球才完全形成
Earth is fully formed.
依然像其从中生长的云团一样 环绕着太阳转动
Still circling the Sun like the cloud
from which it grew.
每365天绕轨道运行一次
Orbiting once every 365 days,
这就是地球之所以具有年份的原因
which is how Earth got its year.
但在地球故事中的这一刻
But at this point in the planet's story,
却是一个没有季节的年份
it's a year without seasons.
因为创造出季节的大混乱
Because the chaos that created them…

is still to come.

In Alaska,

But it wasn't the Moon.

It was another planet
that formed in Earth's orbit.

A sibling called Theia.
它大体上有火星那般大小
It was roughly the size of Mars.
是一个由岩石和熔岩构成的巨大球体 -A vast ball of rock and lava.
在它们整个的幼年期
Throughout their childhood,
地球和忒伊亚尚可以和谐相处
Earth and Theia lived in harmony.
直到年轻的太阳系中产生的引力干扰
Until gravitational disturbances
in the young solar system…
使两颗行星走上了碰撞的道路
set the two planets on a collision course.

…Earth's future hangs in the balance.
