Their main goal is to film the amazing herding
and tail slapping behaviour

that the orcas here use to catch herring.
但团队每次发现虎鲸捕食时
But every time the team
find feeding orcas. . .
座头鲸很快就会出现
. . .the humpbacks soon turn up
然后把虎鲸赶走
and drive the orcas away.

TEAM MEMBER:
It's that direction, we just have to. . .
尽管团队尽了最大的努力
Despite the team's best efforts
但座头鲸就像害虫一样 一次
the humpbacks have become
a pest and show up again. . .
又一次地出现
. . .and again.
对于摄影师戴维·莱克特而言 这是一个挑战
It's a challenge for cameraman,
David Reichert.
我们在水下总能看见座头鲸游来游去
We're seeing humpbacks going
back and forth all the time, down there
却看不见觅食的场景
but just not seeing the, the feeding event.
这很快便成了摄制组的大♥麻♥烦
This soon becomes
a big problem for the team.
鲱鱼群随时都可能会离开 虎鲸也会紧随其后
Any moment, the herring could leave,
followed by the orcas
那样团队的任务就失败了
and the team's mission will be a failure.
现在是一点十分 我估计最晚能待到一点四十五分
It's ten past one. l reckon the latest
we can go is probably quarter to two.
所以我们真的没有太多时间了 今天到现在为止 我们还没有拍到任何东西
There's not really much time at all
and so far today, we haven't got anything.
士气低迷 这时一件事的发生提醒了团队
With morale already low,
something happens that reminds the team
隆冬时节在这里潜水是多么的危险
of just how dangerous it can be
to dive here, in mid-Winter.

One of the divers
gives the signal to be picked up.
看来是出了大♥麻♥烦
Something is very wrong.
是次席水下摄影师 很明显他在挣扎
It's PB, the second underwater cameraman,
and he's clearly struggling.
这是潜水员们的噩梦
It's every diver's worst fear.
他的呼吸器被冻住了 让他无法呼吸
His breathing equipment has frozen,
starving him of air.
如果这种情况发生在更深的海里 很有可能致命
If that had happened deeper underwater,
it could have been fatal.
问题很快被解决了 但军心已经动摇
The problem's quickly sorted out,
but the team are shaken.
唯一能靠近虎鲸的摄像机就是团队的迷你直升机
The only camera that's getting close
to the orcas is the team's mini helicopter.
但既然目前团队运气不佳 他们应该已经预料到会有麻烦
But with the teams current run of bad luck,
they should have foreseen some trouble.
驾驶员托马斯娴熟地操纵着无人机
Thomas, the pilot,
skilfully flies the helicopter
直撞向港口里最小的那块指示牌
straight into the smallest sign
in the harbour.
他很惭愧
He is mortified.
幸运的是 余下的队员认为这很好笑
Luckily, the rest of the team
see the funny side
并展开了援救行动
and mount a rescue mission.
你看螺旋桨还在转动呢
You can see the propellers
going around in the water.
我们会举办一场体面的葬礼
We can have a nice funeral.

它曾经是我的玩具啊 我要回家了
It was my toy. I'm going home.
士气不错 但摄制组失去了最后一台拍摄到虎鲸画面的摄像机
Morale is good, but the team have now lost
the only camera that was filming any orcas.
潜水员们需要一些运气
The divers are gonna need some luck.
伙计们 我们前方动静很大
Quite a lot of action in front of us, guys.
我们恰好遇见了一队虎鲸
LUCY:
We have just come across a group of orcas.
没有座头鲸 真是一件好事
No humpbacks, which is a good thing.
这……我敢说 看起来很有希望
It's. . . dare I say it, looking encouraging.
但到目前为止 我们碰到的各种好局面
But so far, every kind of good situation
we've come across
一开始 我们都认为太棒了
that on the topside we thought is amazing
而座头鲸一来 就没有好事了
they've come up
and it hasn't been good for them.
焦急地等待
It's a tense wait.

TEAM MEMBER:
Come on. . .

LUCY:
Come on. . .
但今天 一切都很顺利
But today, everything happens on cue.
摄像机能正常运转 摄制组终于拍到了
The cameras start rolling
and finally, the team capture
他们梦寐以求的神奇场面
the amazing behaviour
they came here to film.
太魔幻了
DAVlD:
It is magical.
鲱鱼群在你上方盘旋
The herring ball towers above you
鱼鳞反射着光线 就像钻石一样闪烁
and the scales of the herring catch the light
and they just flicker like diamonds.
然后虎鲸游向它们
And then the orcas move up
to them and push them
轻轻地推动着鱼群浮向水面
gently nudge this ball up to the surface. . .
它们把鱼钉在水面 然后展开攻击
. . .where they can pin it up there
and then they come in and attack.
这是我见过最壮观的自然景象之一
This is one of the most spectacular
natural events l've ever seen.

他们克服了艰难险阻
They've had to overcome
some very tough conditions
但是通过坚持不懈和一点好运气
but through perseverance,
and a bit of good luck
