Now, I think a lot of the audience imagine that robot soldiers,

lethal autonomous weapons is either something in science fiction

or it's some time in the future.

Is that the case?

Well, no, actually, autonomous weapon systems

have been around for many decades, at least since the '70s,

in a much more rudimentary, basic form.

But those systems that are equipped with AI, they are new,
