极少人知道整个故事的来龙去脉
Few know the whole story.
在我的记忆中 故事的开始是这样的
From what I recall, it goes something like this...
创世之前
Before history began,
埃及就是生命的摇篮
Egypt was the birthplace of all life.
一个众神创造的天堂
A paradise worthy of the gods who created it.
众神决定住在那里
So the gods decided to live there
而侍奉其左右的是更低等的创造物 人类
alongside their lesser creation, man.
毫无疑问
But there was no mistaking
众神成为凡人崇拜的对象
the gods amongst the mortals who worshiped them.
众神身姿高大
The gods were taller with gold
血管里流淌着金色的血液
running through their veins instead of blood.
而且还能化身为
And they could transform
各种可怕的猛兽
at will into all manner of frightening beasts.
埃及曾经被强大的两兄弟分割
Egypt itself was divided between two mighty brothers.
奥西里斯 生命之神 尊敬的国王
Osiris, the God of Life, was the beloved king
受到肥沃尼罗河畔万民爱戴
of all the lands made bountiful by the Nile.
奥西里斯的兄弟 塞特 统治着远方贫瘠的沙漠
His brother, Set, ruled the far barren desert
在孤独和怨恨中追逐力量
finding both strength and bitterness in his isolation.
直到某日 当奥西里斯传位给新国王
But then the time came for Osiris to crown a new king.
他的独生子 荷鲁斯
His only son, Horus.
这个决定使他们的兄弟之情遭遇了考验
It was a decision that would test the brothers' bond
并影响了整个埃及的命运
and the fate of all Egypt.
然而众神只是神话故事中的一部分
But the gods are only half our tale.
显而易见的是众神
It had become clear that
无法单独依靠他们自己改变宿命
they couldn't shape the course of destiny alone.
还需要加上一个拥有卓越见识
A man of exceptional judgment,
并且智勇双全的人
wisdom and fortitude would be needed.
很不幸 我并不是这个人
Unfortunately, I was not such a man.
但在对我这个莽撞青年不屑一顾之前 请记住
But before you dismiss my younger foolhardy self, remember...
