玛特努尔作为猴王已超过八年...
Matnoor has been a King for over eight years...
这是新加坡所有阿尔法猴王中统治时间最长的之一
one of the longest reigns of any alpha in Singapore.
他统治着"街头帮"，
He rules over the Street Troop,
一个由34只长尾猕猴组成的大家庭
a large family of 34 long-tailed macaques.
他们的领地是岛上最富饶的区域之一
Their territory is one of the richest on the island.
玛特努尔是出了名的随和型领袖...
Matnoor is known as a laidback kind of leader...
但他不欢迎访客进入他的地盘
but he doesn't welcome visitors to his land.
洛奇是这里最新的阿尔法猴王
Loci is the newest alpha around here.
他是"山丘帮"的首领...
He's the boss of the Hill Troop...
一个大约有20名成员的小家族...
a small family of around 20...
其中大多是雌性和幼猴，
most of them, females and youngsters
他们正逐渐习惯洛奇成为老大
who are gradually getting used to Loci being top dog.
他们的老猴王阿♥拉♥夫仍然在族群里徘徊
Their old alpha, Aarav still hangs around the troop.
如今他对洛奇已构不成威胁，
He's no threat to Loci these days
所以被允许留下
so is allowed to stay.
洛奇掌权才一个多月，
Loci has been in charge for just over a month
在这段时间里，
and during this time
他对山丘帮的生活进行了一些剧烈的改变
he's made some drastic changes to the Hill Troop's lives.

The biggest one: Leading them out of the forest

into Matnoor's idyllic home.

Surprisingly, Matnoor seemed to have moved out.

So, Loci moved his new family in.

Life is very good here.
或者说，在几分钟前还是如此
Or it was until a few minutes ago.
玛特努尔回家了
Matnoor is home.
猕猴拥有极佳的视力
Macaques have excellent eyesight.
两位阿尔法猴王立刻发现了对方
The two alphas spot each other immediately.
作为闯入者，洛奇必须迅速做出决定：
Loci, as the trespasser, must make a fast decision:

..or flee.

He chooses to confront Matnoor.

But he's going into battle alone.

His two aging Henchman hang back with the females.

They seem scared of the other much larger troop.

Matnoor on the other hand is joined by his top Henchman,

Ajit
一个无情的战士
a ruthless fighter.
洛奇意识到他做出了错误的决定
Loci realises he's made the wrong decision.
寡不敌众，他呼唤他的家族赶紧逃往树林
Outnumbered, he calls for his family to bolt for the trees.
但为时已晚...
But it's too late...
他们无法足够快地逃脱
they can't get away quick enough.
当敌对的猕猴群发生冲突时，
When rival macaque troops clash,
大部分战斗由成年雄性完成
it's the adult males that do most of the fighting.

But in this skirmish,
山丘帮的雌猴和幼猴
the Hill Troop females and kids

are caught in the crossfire.
当洛奇家族的最后成员逃进森林时，
As the last of Loci's family escape into the forest,

Matnoor calls for his family to pull back and gather around him.
他的族群中没有一个成员受伤
Not a single member of his troop are injured.
但玛特努尔并非这场战斗的英雄
But Matnoor wasn't the hero of the battle.

It was Ajit,
他的得力亲信承担了大部分战斗
his right-hand Henchman who did most of the fighting.

At fifteen years old,

Ajit is considerably younger than his leader.

He's been loyal to Matnoor for years.

But perhaps the King...

The Street Troop and the Hill Troop both live in Singapore
位于岛屿中部
in the middle of the island.

Their territories are right next to each other,

but their homes couldn't be more different.
山丘帮的领地主要是茂密的丛林...
The Hill Troops is mostly thick jungle...

..which they share with some deadly neighbours.

It's been a few weeks since the Hill Troop were last here

Sadly, it's not a joyful homecoming.

The troop are in shock

Judith, the highest ranked female, has a nasty head wound.

The Sisterhood tuck into the best plums at hand.

As the highest ranked ladies,

they're used to getting the pick of the banquet.

While the lowly like Sara
只能将就吃剩饭
make do with the leftovers.
莎拉的儿子马克斯还没准备好加入自助餐的行列
Sara's son Max isn't quite ready to join in on the buffet.

He's only five-weeks old, the youngest member of the troop

and isn't eating solids yet.

But now that Max has made it through the first vulnerable weeks of life,
