2002年夏天 我十九岁
In the summer of 2002, I was 19 years old.
从未离开华盛顿州布里奇顿的我
Lived my whole life in Bridgeton, Washington.

After high school, I did what everybody did: worked at the lumber mill.

But unlike most people here who never leave...

I knew I wanted something more.

and also serve my country.
我加入了美国海军陆战队
So I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.
在那里我接受了此生最严格的训练
It was the toughest training of my life.
全方位无死角的训练
We prepared for everything.
囊括海陆空各种项目
By land, sea or air.
无论何地燃起战火 陆战队员都能有备无患
Wherever combat may be, Marines are prepared.
