Like the limb of this early amphibian with eight fingers.
再经过了几百万年，新的变种又出现了，
As millions more years passed,new variations emerged.
从征服了陆地的爬虫类爪子，
From the clawed limbs of reptiles that would colonise dry land...
…到灵长类的强壮手臂，
..to the powerful arms of primates
能够在树林间穿梭
that could traverse through the trees...
最后终于，一个了不起的结构诞生了，
..until eventually a remarkable piece of anatomy arose
这个结构，改变了世界
that would itself transform the world -
人类之手
the human hand.
这段历史，不只存在我们的骨头和血肉之中，
This history is not just in our bone, flesh and muscle,
它写在我们的DNA之中，
it's in our DNA.
而这将我们…和体内的鱼…深深连结了起来，
And that's what connects us all the way back to our inner fish.
我们身体的基本组成结构，
Fundamental portions of our own bodies
起源于生活在水里的鱼，
originally came about in fish living in water
而那伟大的过渡期，生命从水中抢滩登陆…
and the great transition from life in water to life on land
建立了一个舞台，让各式各样的结构得以出现
set the stage for a whole new set of anatomical inventions
而这些结构…共同打造出了人类核心
that were themselves to form the core for our own humanity.
